Brenna hails from Gomdjarin, which translates roughly to "Those With Cracked Faces" due to the chapped skin of those who work the salt mines and refining processes there. An innate magic finds its ways into the souls of many born there, associated to the peculiar salt that washes in from the subterranean ocean, the Darksalt Expanse, and this was true for Brenna as well. Try as her elders might, Brenna's thoughts were always in the wild caverns, tunnels, and wilds of the Underdark, and she never learned the salt-based magic of her people.
Brenna instead threw herself into the wilds of her homeland, and leaned on her innate physicality. She soon met the dwarven adventuring party of Belrig, Elris, and Dalmor from the dwarven citadel of Kol Taram. The dwarves taught her skills that seemed to lend themselves perfectly to Brenna's ability, and soon enough, Brenna found herself an adventurer.
Their travels brought the group to the Feywild, where they sought to free the old pixie community of Sunhoney from the grip of corruption. The group was ambushed by monks wearing the black and purple garb of the 9th Path. When she regained conciousness, she saw the rot-encrusted bodies of Elris and Dalmor being hauled away, and watched as Belrig was murdered for trying to rescue them. She lost consciousness again, and when she awoke it was in the midst of a battle between powerful creatures of rot and decay against Aca and Shae, who had both lost their friends within the Feywild as well.
